Enjoy these soft, chewy Christmas cookies packed with chocolate chips and optional nuts, perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) (optional)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Mix dry ingredients; set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugars; add eggs and vanilla. Combine with dry ingredients.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and nuts if using. Drop spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on racks.

Notes

For softer cookies, slightly underbake and let cool on the baking sheet.
