Instructions 

  • Cook pasta until al dente, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain and set aside.
  • Sauté garlic in olive oil, then add broccoli and salt. Cook until slightly tender.
  • Melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk. Cook until thickened.
  • Stir in mustard powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and cheese until smooth.
  • Add pasta and broccoli to the cheese sauce. Mix well, adding pasta water if needed.
  • Serve warm with extra cheese or toppings.

Notes

Add a pinch of nutmeg to the cheese sauce for extra warmth.
