Combine 2 cups flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Beat until smooth.
Gradually add remaining flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.
Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise for 1-1.5 hours.
Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
Shape each piece into a ball and place in a greased baking dish.
