Strawberry Topping
4cupsfresh strawberries(hulled and sliced)
1/4cupgranulated sugar
1teaspoonfresh lemon juice
Whipped Cream
1cupheavy whipping cream(cold)
2tablespoonspowdered sugar
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet.
Combine strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Let sit for 30 minutes.
Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar.
Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in milk or buttermilk until dough comes together.
Pat dough into a rectangle, fold, and pat again.
Cut out biscuits and place on baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
