Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

For dusting

  • powdered sugar (for dusting (optional))

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheet.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix in egg and vanilla.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture.
  • Shape dough into balls, place on sheet, flatten slightly.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes until edges are golden. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.

Notes

Chill the dough if it's too soft for easier shaping.
