These Maple Snickerdoodles are a delightful twist on the classic cookie, featuring a rich maple flavor and a cinnamon-sugar coating.

Equipment

  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • oven
  • parchment paper
  • cookie scoop

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and maple syrup until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until well incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon and 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling.
  • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until fully coated.
  • Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear slightly soft but will firm up as they cool.
  • Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For a stronger maple flavor, consider adding a bit more maple syrup or using maple extract.
