Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using walnuts or pecans in the batter.
