Instructions 

  • Sauté sausage, bell pepper, onion, and garlic in olive oil for 5–7 minutes until tender.
  • Mix in Cajun seasoning, then add chicken broth and heavy cream; simmer gently.
  • Stir in uncooked penne pasta, cover, and cook for 12–15 minutes until al dente.
  • Incorporate shredded cheddar cheese until melted; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to your preferred level of spiciness. For a lighter version, use light cream or half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
