Instructions
Season chicken with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and cayenne. Dredge in flour.
Fry chicken in oil or butter until golden, then set aside.
Make gravy: cook onions in butter, add garlic, then stir in flour to form a roux. Whisk in broth and milk, season to taste.
Return chicken to skillet, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and tender.
Serve hot with rice, mashed potatoes, or biscuits, garnished with parsley or green onions.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of thyme or hot sauce to the gravy.
