A flavorful and hearty pasta skillet featuring smoked sausage, chicken, and a creamy Cajun sauce. This dish is quick to prepare and perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Meat

  • 1 lb smoked beef sausage (sliced)
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts (diced)

Vegetables

  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 2 bell peppers (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 14.5 oz diced tomatoes (canned)

Dairy & Seasoning

  • 8 oz cream cheese (package)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

Pasta

  • 1 lb pasta (penne or rotini)

Instructions 

  • Brown sausage in skillet for 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook chicken in skillet until no longer pink (5-6 minutes). Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Sauté onion, bell peppers, and garlic until softened (4-5 minutes).
  • Stir in diced tomatoes; simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Lower heat; add cream cheese and heavy cream until melted into a sauce.
  • Return sausage and chicken to skillet; mix in Cajun seasoning.
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and combine with skillet mixture.
  • Serve hot with optional shredded cheddar cheese.

Notes

Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning to your preferred level of spiciness.
